About Me

I am a graduate of Loyola's MS Pastoral Counseling program in 2011 and have been in the field as a psychotherapist for over 9 years. The story of how I came to be a therapist has much to do with my personal journey to help myself and then learning to help others as well. One thing that defines me is my belief in group and individual "work" to enrich my own life and relationships. I'm a psychotherapist who strongly believes in the importance of doing my own individual and group therapy process. My commitment to take care of my own mind and body is what allows me to be there for you. For me this work is a mission. My calling is to offer to you the growth opportunities that I have been lucky enough to experience in my own life. What brought me to being a therapist in the first place is the excitement, compassion and possibility that comes with exploring the human experience.
You may have a disorder like depression, anxiety or PTSD but these disorders do not define a human being. You are infinite potential and possibility. Whatever disorder you are struggling with is an opportunity to be able to experience the goodness of what life has to offer if we are willing to go into those dark places and emerge as a wiser and more compassionate person. As Leonard Cohen said, "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in". My greatest interest as a therapist is in help you get unstuck. I want you to leave my office feeling renewed, invigorated and inspired. The techniques that I use make therapy an invigorating, creative and empowering experience even for the most serious issues. It's not just talk therapy, although of course talk will always be a part of it. My job is to help you find and develop your best self and I'm committed too doing that well.
I know for a fact that the issues that I have worked through in my own psychotherapy through individual and group processes have been invaluable and have been incredibly rich both for myself in my relationships with others. I would like to offer you the opportunity to experience the growth opportunities that I have experienced in my life so that you can unlock your potential. My therapeutic style is eclectic. I am inspired by and incorporate the following modalities: psychodrama, sand tray, somatic and hypnosis. Let me show you what is possible through body based psychodramatic therapy.
